Hyderabad, June 11 (Namaste Telangana): Irrigation and Drainage Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced that the works of Seethamma Sagar project will be accelerated. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhattivikrama, Ministers Tummala Nageswar Rao, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Vakiti Srihari along with district public representatives reviewed the progress of the ongoing irrigation project in the joint Khammam district at Jalasaudha.
The officials of the Irrigation Department were asked about the project-wise works and the details of the problems at the field level. Later, Minister Uttam said that permanent irrigation water security for Khammam farmers is the government’s goal and a special activity has been designed to complete the projects. He said that all the pending projects including Seethammasagar will be completed expeditiously and the problems of land acquisition, forest permits, rehabilitation, lack of funds etc. will be resolved quickly. Sitarama said that special attention has been paid to the Paleru Link Canal, Munneru-Paleru connection. Irrigation Secretary Sridhar, Joint Secretary K Srinivas, ENCs and CEs participated in the meeting.
