Hyderabad: The Telangana government has shocked Andhra Pradesh in the case of the Polavaram-Banakacherla Link Project. It is clear that there is no discussion on the bakkachars. To this extent, the central government has written a letter. The Andhra Pradesh government has given a single agenda to discuss the Banakachar at a meeting of the chief ministers of the two states in the presence of the Union Minister in Delhi on the 16th of this month. The Telangana government has objected to the agenda of the Banakacharla. It is not necessary to discuss the CMs at the CM’s meeting with no permits. The Krishna River has proposed permits for pending projects and national status for Palamuru and Dindi projects.
As per the previous promise of pending projects on Krishna, the Center has promised to identify the Palmooru and Dindi projects as national projects, 80 TMCs of water for the project, along with the allocation of water at Tummadihetti, ABIP aid and the use of 200 tmc of flood waters at Ivampally. Another letter was written to the Center on Tuesday morning, objected to the agenda of the Banakacharla.
It is clear that there is no need to discuss the Banakachar at the meeting on Wednesday. In the letter, the GRMB, CWC and EAC have expressed strong objections to the bakacachar and so far, the project has no permits. That is why there is no need to discuss the Banakacharla project that violates the laws and the tribunal judgments. The Godavari-Banakacharla link project has been discussed. It said such measures would hurt the credibility of central government regulations.
