Budget without Libra gold, Rs.2,500

Both Houses will begin with the Governor’s address at 11:45 am on Monday. New Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla is going to come to the Assembly for the first time. Department wise pre-budget meetings have already been completed under the leadership of Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramara. Bhatti will present the budget in Vikramarka Assembly on 20th of this month. According to the information available so far, it is known that the new budget is going to be introduced by reversing the old budget calculations. However, due to the financial situation, it was delayed, otherwise they would have done it and pushed it for a while. If the Deputy Speaker is not elected..!

This is the first time in the history of the state that the Assembly has been sitting without a Deputy Speaker for two and a half years. The executive officers say that there is no possibility of holding the election of the Deputy Speaker this time as well. The name of Dornakal Congress MLA Ramachandra Naik as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly was announced by the Congress leadership in June last year. He is currently continuing as a whip. Even if the name of Ramachander Naik is finalised, the process for the election of the Deputy Speaker has yet to be officially undertaken. However, this appointment is getting broken in every meeting.

There is no clarity on the election of the Deputy Speaker in this budget meeting either. A notification has to be issued before the election of the Deputy Speaker. Government sources say that the election was not held in the last assembly sessions due to lack of time. It is known that Ramachander Naik is aspiring for the post of minister. That is why he is not willing to take the post of Deputy Speaker. Similarly, while 18 committees are to be appointed in the assembly, the MLAs of the ruling party are expressing their displeasure over the fact that for the last two and a half years, they have not appointed 15 committees.
