Regional Ring Road | Hyderabad, August 9 (Namaste Telangana): Tenders for the construction of the Regional Ring Road (TripleR) for 8 months have not been let go on the project. After a meeting with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on the 5th of this month, Minister Komatireddy Venkatara Reddy said that the Prime Minister will meet next week, saying that it will soon be clear on TripleR. This is due to the recent decision of the Center not to give the green signal for land acquisition projects in accordance with the recommendations of the parliamentary house panel. About 1,950 hectares of land is required for the construction of about 162 km long tripleR north, of which 90% have passed the awards. However, many farmers who have previously agreed to land in the past are now not willing to give their lands as land prices have risen over time. Many farmers have already resorted to the court on this. Others are applying for arbitration.

The National Highways Authority (NHAI), which was called by the Tenders last December, has been preparing for the first 4 lanes to be built with 4 lanes. Recently, the parliamentary house panel recommended that the construction of roads should not be completed without the completion of land acquisition. The House Panel has found that the lack of permits from the forest and railway departments in many parts of the country have been going on for years and that farmers have not agreed to land acquisition and court cases. The land acquisition has been completed and all the permits are recommended to the Center to undertake road projects. Against this backdrop, the NHAI has been stepping up due to the lack of land acquisition for the TripleR project and hence the Union Cabinet has not approved.
