Kavvampally Satyanarayana | Timmapur, July 23: Bethelli Rajender Reddy, who attempted suicide on the 14th of this month, died in the hospital on Wednesday midnight, saying that Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana PA Vangala Muralidhar Reddy was harassing her. Due to this, there was tense situation in Karimnagar along with Gundlapalli on Thursday.
Rajender Reddy (44), husband of former sarpanch Samatha of Gundlapalli village of Gunneruvaram mandal of Karimnagar district, has a cement brick shop in the village. On the afternoon of 13th of this month, Paidipalli Mallesham and Bigulla Shravan of Vadaluru village of Bejjanki mandal of Siddipet district were drinking alcohol at his shop when Rajender Reddy asked them to leave. A fight broke out and Rajender Reddy’s phone was broken.
Mohammed Sadiq, who was there, gathered the three and told them that he would buy a cell phone with them. The next day MLA PA Muralidhar Reddy along with Mohammad Sadiq, Paidipally Mallesham and Bigulla Shravan filed a complaint against Rajender Reddy at Gunneruvaram Police Station and registered a SC and ST case. Rajender Reddy confessed to his family members that MLA PA Muralidhar Reddy and Ravinder Reddy had registered a case against him because they were questioning about the injustices in the village. After that he reached MLA camp office in Timmapur Mandal LMD Colony. Claiming that he was being treated unfairly, he poured the petrol he had brought on his stool and set it on fire.
Immediately the locals rushed to Karimnagar Government Hospital. After that, he was taken to a private hospital, where he died on Wednesday midnight. Later, the body was taken to the government hospital for post-mortem. After learning about Rajender Reddy’s death, villagers and relatives of Gundlapalli reached the hospital in large numbers. They demanded the arrest of MLA PA and four others.
The postmortem was prevented from being conducted and they started protesting. Karimnagar Rural ACP Vijay Kumar appealed to the family members and took a complaint. According to the complaint given by Rajender Reddy’s wife Samatha, a case was registered under section 108 of BNS against Vangala Muralidhar Reddy, Vangala Ravinder Reddy, Mohammad Sadiq, Paidimalla Mallesham and Bigulla Shravan of Vadlur at the LMD police station. Relatives once again staged a dharna on the road in front of the hospital demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. As ACP promised to arrest them, the agitation stopped. The body of Rajender Reddy was taken to Gundlapalli in an ambulance.

There was tension at Gundlapalli, Rajender Reddy’s hometown. The body of Rajender Reddy was taken to Gundlapalli under escort. At the same time, family members, relatives and villagers blocked the Rajiv road. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused. They tried to attack the house of PA Muralidhar Reddy. The police dispersed them. Later, the last rites of Rajender Reddy were completed in the middle of the police watch.

Bethelli Samatha lamented that her husband Rajender Reddy committed suicide due to harassment by Manakondur MLA PA Muralidhar Reddy. She warned that if PA Muralidhar Reddy and the accused are not arrested, they will commit suicide by drinking insecticide along with my child and son in front of the MLA camp office.

Former MLA Rasama Yi Balakishan declared that Rajender Reddy was murdered. It was alleged that Rajender Reddy was harassed after questioning the ruling party MLA PA. They clarified that they will stand by BRS till justice is done to the victim’s family. To this extent, he released a video in America. Rajender Reddy’s death is sad. It is said that if he went to tell the MLA about the harassment of the PA, he did not respond at least and tried to commit suicide by pouring petrol on him. They demanded that those responsible for Rajender Reddy’s death be punished severely and justice be given to the victim’s family.
