Hyderabad, May 23 (Namaste Telangana): A key decision has been taken regarding the promotions of ESLs and Inspectors in the Telangana Police Department. The DGP’s office has clarified that promotions will not be given to officers who have not completed their deputation period. To this extent, the higher officials issued a circular on Thursday.
In the police department, civil servants and inspectors should perform duties on deputation for at least two years in special departments. It is stated that the promotion cases of those who do not follow this rule will not be considered. The multizone and zonal officers have been advised to collect the details of the officers coming into the promotion zone at present.
The panel has to estimate the number of vacancies for the years 2026-27 and 2027-28 and select the officers according to the rules of seniority and reservation. It has been clarified that henceforth promoted officers will be appointed on deputation in special departments other than law and order, crime and traffic stations.
This deputation will be implemented in special units of the department and departments outside the department. Police officials suggested that the officers who have already served in the special departments and completed a certain period should be recalled and other eligible officers should be sent in their place on a rotational basis.
