Hyderabad, May 3 (Namaste Telangana): The new changes brought by Revanth Sarkar in the fee reimbursement scheme will destroy the dreams of Telangana youth. Badugu students will be kept away from new technical education opportunities. They will again be restricted to conventional courses. Today’s poor students will again experience the miserable conditions of a decade and a half ago. Educational disparities will increase. To put it bluntly, the conditions that lead today’s youth from the path of progress to the path of regression are seen. The same fears are prevalent among Telangana educationists.

If KCR built the edifices of hope on the foundations laid by the late Chief Minister YSR Fee Reimbursement Scheme, today’s Revanth Sarkar is different from that and it is widely felt that he has taken measures to take life. Due to the decision to introduce the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) method through Geo 7 brought by the state government, the poor and weaker section students are going to suffer a lot. Due to the new rule brought by the government, there is a possibility that higher education opportunities will be limited to some towns. If Badugu students do not join the colleges because they are unable to bear the burden of fees, there will be a situation where the private owners will have to remove even the existing few colleges as the seats are not full. Additional burden will also fall on rural students and parents. Ultimately, higher education will once again remain a myth.

The beginning of YSR.. KCR who brought it

The Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy launched the Fee Reimbursement Scheme in the academic year 2008-09 in the Commonwealth of Nations. In this scheme, higher and technical education has reached the underprivileged communities. This marked the beginning of a social revolution. Due to the absence of fees, no poor student is far away from higher education. The government has started paying the fees for poor students studying in government and private colleges. Poor students from underprivileged communities have shifted to many advanced courses from conventional courses. They chose courses suitable to their interests and settled in the respective fields.

After the formation of a separate state, KCR as the first Chief Minister of Telangana continued the same scheme without making any changes with a broad perspective. To bring success to this scheme, more and more Bardugu schemes have been implemented to benefit the underprivileged students. Encouraged to get higher education opportunities. Lakhs of people have been given the opportunity to complete courses from 5th standard to degree, PG, medicine, engineering etc. KCR also launched the Foreign Education Fund Scheme for SC, ST, BC, Minority and Upper Caste poor who aspire to pursue higher studies abroad. Financial assistance of Rs. 20 lakhs was provided and encouraged for foreign education of Badugus.

Sarkar water on the hopes of the youth

Within a decade, modern technology has expanded in an unimaginable way. AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology is creating a huge revolution. It is changing the course of all sectors. Contributing to the creation of new jobs and the development of broad employment sectors. Accordingly, many advanced and technical courses are being developed at present. The employment opportunities of lakhs of people are improving with these courses. In this background, the Congress government has decided to change the outline of the fee reimbursement scheme at the stage where the youth are running. Due to the actions of the government, the burden of fees will be borne by the students of poor and weaker sections.

Concern is being expressed that these measures are meant to keep poor students away from advanced education. Badugu youth who are unable to pay the fees have to lose their opportunities. Situations will arise where their dreams will remain in ruins. Due to financial conditions and not interests, the students from the weaker sections of the Bardugu are again limited to traditional courses. Not only will this again lead to educational inequality, but there is also a danger of threatening shortage of human resources in the respective fields in the future.

Revanth Reddy who is taking the loan of the scheme

The Revanth Reddy government is dismantling the ongoing fee reimbursement scheme with a broad perspective. This government has stopped payment of fee arrears since coming to power. On the one hand, the owners are not able to run the colleges, and on the other hand, the students are lamenting that they are not issuing certificates citing the arrears of fees, but there is no response from the government.

For some time it was called one-time settlement, and for some time it was said that a trust would be established and the dues would be paid. CM Revanth Reddy’s assurances led to a dire situation. Despite the protests, there was no movement in the Congress government. Dues have been paid and now it is ready to waive the responsibility of payment of fees altogether. Revanth Sarkar has decided to write the death warrant by issuing new guidelines through JVO7. It is clear that the fee will be paid directly to the students and not to the colleges, but the specific deadline has not been disclosed, so it is clear that ultimately it will be a conspiracy to derail the scheme.

Jio 7 should be canceled immediately

Jio 7, which was recently introduced by the Congress government, should be canceled immediately. This bio has a serious negative impact on the poor students. Especially SC, ST, BC and Minority students are in a situation where they cannot pay the fees in advance. Even if they borrow and pay the fees, the reimbursement from the government is not enough to repay the loan with interest. It is not known when the government will release the reimbursement money to the students. If it is released every three or four years, that money will not be enough for the interest on the loan. Many students lose admissions because they are unable to pay the fees in advance. Due to this policy, poor students are deprived of higher education.

A conspiracy to deprive the poor of education

The state government is conspiring to spoil the higher education opportunities of poor SC, ST, BC and minority children. Not only economically, but also from a social perspective, then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy brought the Fee Reimbursement Scheme. Ex-CM KCR not only implemented the scheme as is without showing political differences but also expanded it and applied it to lakhs of students. Ways have been made to make higher education more accessible to the Bardugus through Gurukuls and foreign education fund schemes. But today’s Revanth Reddy government has taken steps to disable that scheme. It is understood that GEO 7 has been brought in accordance with the recommendations of the Education Commission.
