Nennela: Farmers dry paddy on both sides of the road in the belief that every year the buying center runs. But even after twenty days, no grain purchase center has been set up in that village. Farmers are very worried as they know that the Center has removed them from the Tira authorities. In Gangaram village of Nennela mandal of Manchyryala district, farmers are facing difficulties due to lack of purchase center. There are about 30 lorries of grain here. A purchase center is established every year through PACS. But the center has been lifted for this Yasangi crop.
Farmers threshed their crops and shouted by the roadside saying that the center will be set up as usual. The farmers got suspicious that no one had been there for three weeks and approached the authorities. When asked why they are not buying grain, they replied that there is no permission to set up the center. Farmers are worried that if it rains, they will not be able to get the grain. The grain has already dried in the sun. On Thursday, former Bellampally MLA Durgam Chinnaiah visited the farmers. He demanded that the government should arrange a purchase center and take action without any inconvenience to the farmer.
