Bandi Sai Bhageerath | Bail for Bhagirath. High Court conditions that he should not go to the victim's area

Bandi Sai Bhageerath | Hyderabad, July 9 (Namaste Telangana): The High Court on Thursday granted bail to Union Minister’s son Bandi Sai Bhagirath, who was arrested in the POCSO case. It ordered to submit personal guarantee of one lakh rupees and two other sureties for the same amount. The petitioner was told to appear before the SHO every Monday at 11 a.m. for eight weeks or until the chargesheet is filed.

It has been stipulated that the petitioner should not go to the victim’s residence, educational institutions and work areas and similarly the victim, complainant and witnesses should not be subjected to any threats or temptations. It has been clarified that no public announcements should be made, messages, audios, electronic videos should not be disseminated, interviews and press releases should not be given regarding this case. He was granted bail on the condition that he surrenders his passport and does not leave the country without the permission of the court.

Justice K Sujana, who heard the bail petition filed by Bandi Bhagiratha, issued the order on Thursday. After considering the arguments of both sides, the judge granted bail to Bhagirath. The counsel for the petitioner argued that the petitioner has been in jail for 55 days and the accused should not be in detention after 25 witnesses have been examined.

The judge said that the investigation was almost over and the bail was granted taking into account the arguments of the public prosecutor that the charge sheet was to be filed. He said that when the court is satisfied that the accused is absconding and there is no obstacle to the investigation, there is no need to keep him in custody until the investigation is completed and strict conditions can be imposed. He said that the prosecution can apply for cancellation of bail if the surety and conditions are violated.
