Hyderabad, July 8 (Namaste Telangana): The state government has approached the High Court seeking modification of the recently issued interim order regarding student fee reimbursement arrears. It is known that due to the existing order, the poor and middle class students will not be able to pay the fees and will face difficulties. Several engineering colleges had earlier filed petitions challenging the long pending fee reimbursement arrears and the Jivas issued by the government for the current academic year. The government recently filed a petition to remove the interim orders issued by the High Court in these cases. Justice Juvwadi Sridevi took up the investigation. Senior advocates for the petitioners vehemently opposed the government’s request.
It is stated that it is not proper for the government to file a new petition to modify the interim orders without filing counters in the main petitions filed earlier. He requested to order the government once again to implement those orders. Stating that the government says that the amount of fees will be deposited in the students’ accounts and then the money should be paid to the colleges within a week. Government advocate Sriraghuram said that the government is ready to implement the previous interim orders. He said that the government is not against collecting the amount paid from the students and the colleges should wait only till the funds are deposited in the students’ accounts. He said that the necessary funds will be released for the first batch of admissions in the current academic year. After these arguments, the High Court adjourned the further hearing to Thursday.
