HYDERABAD: The government has once again extended the 25 per cent concession deadline on the layout regularization seam (LRS) fee. The deadline has been extended till May 31 this month. The government announced the one -time settlement in February this year. It was then extended to April 30 and then until May 3. The latest decision to extend it again.
The lack of technical problems and lack of response from the public has become a barrier to the implementation of the scheme, the concession deadline is being extended again. 25.67 lakh applications were received under the layout regularization scheme, which began in 2020. About 40 percent of those who paid the LRS fee were given procedures.
However, only 5.19 lakh people have completed payments by April 30. The Congress government, which is seeking revenue of Rs 20,000 crore through this scheme, has so far been able to raise only Rs 1,863 crore. Against this backdrop, the deadline is expected to extend the deadline for more applicants.
