Warangal, June 29 (Namaste Telangana Spokesperson): The State Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) has claimed that there has been no damage to the Nandi sculpture due to the works undertaken by them under the Saski scheme at Ramappa Lake Island. A special article titled ‘Destruction in Historical Ramappa’ was published in ‘Namaste Telangana’ on Monday on the development work going on at Ramappa Cheruvu Island in Palampet, Venkatapur mandal, Mulugu district, and the plight of Nandi Vigra Ham, Panavattam and other sculptures that were broken a short distance from the work premises. TGTDC has given an explanation on this. TGTDC clarified that the total area of Rama Pappa Island is about 8 acres and under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASKI) scheme of the Ministry of Tourism of the Central Government, they have undertaken development work only in an area of 5 acres. It said that the work done in that 5 acre area will come under their purview. She explained that the Devada pipeline goes in the area where the Nandi sculpture is located, and in this context, they did not cause any damage to the Nandi sculpture.
