Telangana should be reassured by the Center
  • Respond to drought conditions
  • Palamuru-Ranga Reddy, Kaleshwaram project should be given national status
  • Coal mines should be given to Singareni

Hyderabad, July 19 (Namaste Telangana): BRS Parliamentary Party leader Vaviraju Ravichandra has demanded that Telangana is suffering from drought due to El Nino and the Center should take the responsibility of reassuring the people. He said that the reservoirs and ponds have dried up due to rains and the ground water is not available for cultivation and drinking water. It has been brought to the notice of the Center that unannounced cuts in electricity supply have increased. Ravichandra participated in an all-party meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi on Sunday and heard the demands of the people of the state in view of the start of the monsoon session of the Parliament from Monday.

After the meeting, MP Ravichandra said to the media representatives that the problems of the state were brought to the attention of the center as per the instructions of BRS chief KCR. As cuts are being made in Hyderabad due to power shortage, coal production has been asked to be increased. He said that as a result of KCR’s 13-year struggle, Tadicharla-2 coal mine was handed over to Singareni company. They demanded that Goleti, Manuguru, Pusapalli and Madaram mines should be transferred to Singareni company along with Koyagudem-3, Satthupalli-3 and Shravanpalli which are under private domain.

It is explained that the profit of the company will also increase along with coal production. National status should be given to Kaleswaram MP Vaviraju stated that it is regrettable that the central government has not sanctioned the Wardha, Seethamma, Sammaka-Saralamma irrigation projects in Telangana while allowing Godavari water to be diverted to Banakachar. They demanded national status for Palamuru-Ranga Reddy or Kaleshwaram project.

Adilabad CCI should be revived

Vaviraju Ravichandra asked to restore the CCI factory in Adilabad and set up a railway coach factory in Kazipet and a steel factory in Bayyaram. They demanded that the process of setting up Adilabad, Mamunur and Kothagudem airports should be speeded up. Five villages adjacent to Bhadrachalam were asked to be included back in Telangana. They appealed to grant IIM to Telangana and to give permission for the 2nd phase of Hyderabad Metro Rail.
