However, the Meteorological Center has announced that the monsoon is moving actively and due to its effect, there will be heavy rains in Telangana for the next seven days. It has been clarified that heavy to very heavy rains are likely to be recorded especially in North and East Telangana districts.
According to the latest forecasts of the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Khammam and Warangal districts today. In this background ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued to these two districts. Apart from these, Hanumakonda, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda, Kumuram Bhim Asifabad, Manchyryala, Medchal Malkajigiri, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and other districts will experience light to moderate showers with thunder and lightning. Officials have warned people to be alert as strong gusty winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour are likely to blow during this time.
The Meteorological Department has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for Telangana in the wake of rain forecast across the state. Rains are expected to continue till July 2. Moderate to heavy rains are expected in North, Central and East Telangana districts and very heavy rains in one or two places. At the same time, there are indications of light to moderate rains in southern Telangana districts. The weather in the capital city of Hyderabad has also cooled down. The city residents got relief from the rain as the sky was cloudy since morning.
Officials said that it will start with light showers in the afternoon and the intensity of the rain will increase after 6 pm. It is said that there are indications of heavy rain in the city during the night. It is advised not to venture out unless it is an emergency, as the low-lying areas are waterlogged due to rains and there is a possibility of traffic problems on the main roads.
