Southwest Monsoon | Low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.. Monsoon will pick up

Southwest Monsoon | Hyderabad, July 19 (Namaste Telangana): Monsoon trough over Sriganganagar, Rohatak, Hardoi, Varanasi, Ranchi, Sagar Island moving southeast towards northwest Bay of Bengal at 1.5 km above sea level. Hyderabad Meteorological Center said that it has spread up to the heights and due to its effect, light to moderate rains are likely to occur at some places across the state for the next week. It has been revealed that the southwest monsoon will pick up again.

While the plains have been basking in the sun for a few weeks, the rains have been confined to the Himalayan foothills. Monsoon will strengthen again across the country, scientists said, starting from Northeast India early next week and gradually spreading to East, Central and North India.

Why did it decrease in July?

According to weather experts.. India is currently facing ‘break monsoon’ phase. During this time, central India became dry as the trough of rains moved towards the northern Himalayas. This is due to the formation of extremely low pressures in the Bay of Bengal and the weakening of the Arabian Sea winds in this month. As a result, 24 percent deficit has been recorded in rainfall across the country so far. Of the expected 323.1 mm rainfall, only 244.6 mm was recorded.
