According to the call of ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ given by the state committee of Telangana Waring Journalists Federation (TWF), journalists from many districts gathered in large numbers across the state and protested at Gunpark on Thursday. First they paid homage to the martyrs at the Martyrs Stupa.

Later they displayed placards and raised slogans against the government. Also, the journalists who had gone out to besiege the Secretariat as a huge rally were stopped by the police and arrested and taken to Panjagutta, Asifnagar and other police stations. On this occasion, TWJF state president Mamidi Somaiya said that it is regrettable that they have given assurances that they will give houses and plots to journalists in every case but no action has been taken in that direction.
