Hyderabad, May 10 (Namaste Telangana): The government has backed down on the proposal to merge inter-education into school education. It has been decided to conduct admissions in the new academic year in the old way. The inter-board merger was opposed by faculty unions and private junior college employers.
Admissions as usual this year..
CM Revanth Reddy ordered the officials to conduct the inter admissions for this academic year as usual. The Chief Minister conducted a high-level review on the issue of board merger. Rajya Sabha member Vem Narendra Reddy, CSK Ramakrishna Rao, CMO Principal Secretary Seshadri, CM Special Secretary Ajith Reddy, CM Secretary Manikraj and Education Secretary Yogitharana discussed the merger issues and the subsequent developments. Short time for admissions and technical problems were found to be obstacles.
The CM advised the officials to go ahead with the merger process only after consultation with the partners. He said that the KK committee appointed to formulate the Telangana Education Policy should conduct a comprehensive study on the matter, after which the report of the committee will be discussed in the assembly and a final decision will be taken. Leaders of the lecturers’ association Madhusudan Reddy, Suresh and TPJMA president Gauri Satish expressed their joy over the government’s decision.
