Revanth Reddy | Hyderabad, July 13 (Namaste Telangana): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy revealed that Telangana will benefit from the river linking project being undertaken by the Centre. The MPs were advised to pay special attention to the plans of the Central Government that there is a possibility of getting 43 TMCs for the state.

A special PowerPoint presentation was arranged for state MPs on Monday at Praja Bhavan on issues pending at the Center in view of the commencement of the Parliament sessions. The CM explained the issues to be raised in the Parliament and the projects to get permission from the Centre. After that, CM Revanth Reddy said that he asked the central ministers of the respective departments to jointly appeal for the permission to be taken for the establishment of IIM in Hyderabad, Hyderabad Metro Phase-2, land acquisition of southern part of ORR, and Musi revival.

Revanth Reddy also appealed to BJP MPs Etala Rajender and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy to pay special attention to this matter. Similarly, the issues discussed with the Chief Ministers of AP and Karnataka under the leadership of Karnataka Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil were explained to the MPs regarding the state’s river waters. Although 15.09 tmc of water is supposed to come to Telangana from Tungabhadra, it is not getting more than 5 tmc with silt, the CM suggested that the Union Minister should be persuaded to cooperate with AP and Karnataka in removing silt from the dam and canals.

The CM said that the central government has taken the responsibility of persuading Chhattisgarh to take water from Godavari as part of interlinking of rivers. He said that Chhattisgarh has a share of 300 TMC in Godavari, Chhattisgarh is not using that water, and even if it uses 160 TMC in the future, there will still be a surplus of 143 TMC. Revanth Reddy revealed that Telangana has a chance to get 43 TMC if the rivers are connected. The CM suggested that there is a Godavari-Kaveri connection plan to take Godavari waters to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala through AP, and the MPs should pay special attention to that.

The CM explained to the MPs that Chhattisgarh is the center of water and the center of funds, and both should be achieved in favor of Telangana. The CM said that AP should issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for the projects started in the common state, and that matter was discussed with Union Minister CR Patil and AP Chief Minister and they agreed in principle and if the NOCs come, the obstacles to them will be removed. The CM revealed to the MPs that he will meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Fadnavis to construct the Tammidihetti project at 150-151 feet.

The CM said that we are cooperating with the central government for the benefit of the state and IAS officer Advait Kumar Singh has been appointed for coordination in Delhi Telangana Bhavan to provide necessary information to the MPs irrespective of the parties. The CM directed the officials to provide any information required by the MPs regarding the pending matters and to provide them with the information requested by the MPs irrespective of the parties. The CM advised MPs convener Dr. Mallu Ravi to coordinate the MPs of all parties and move forward. The letters sent to the Center regarding various issues of the state and the prepared details informing the current status were ordered to be made available to the MPs during the sessions of the Parliament.
