Telangana | Hyderabad, July 7 (Namaste Telangana): Even though Telangana is passing through the heyday of becoming a separate state, some of the high-ranking officials are still infatuated with ‘Andhra Pradesh’. Sitting in the secretariat, they are displaying extreme negligence by printing ‘Government of Andhra Pradesh’ on the official orders and memos issued for the people of Telangana.
There is widespread criticism that IAS officers and senior engineers in high positions are blindly signing and issuing old formats by copying and pasting them without any minimum responsibility. An official memo issued on the 6th of this month under the signature of the Special Chief Secretary of the State Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, M Danakishore, is causing a furore on social media. It has become a hot topic of discussion across the state. This memo regarding the next steps of the ‘Prajapalana-Pragati Plan’ which has been taken up by Telangana Government is clearly printed on the top letterhead as ‘Government of Andhra Pradesh’. Did the collectors of the state close their eyes and sign on this life issued as a priority to all? Criticisms are coming. When this error came to light, the authorities were alerted and later made corrections.
Telangana Soi is gone?
Telanganaists are outraged by the negligence of the officials who are in the highest positions and receiving salaries of lakhs of rupees per month in the state which was established in the name of Telangana’s existence and self-respect. Even if the lower level staff copy and type the old bio formats, the responsibility of checking and correcting them rests with key officials like Special Chief Secretary, Chief Engineer. Netizens on social media are lashing out at the fact that they sign without any ‘Telangana Soi’ and without even looking at what is on the original letterhead, which is a proof of their slave mentality.
It’s the same ‘copy-paste’ affair in R&B
The same copy-paste affair in the State Roads and Buildings Department has led to a heated debate. In an official letter issued by Chief Engineer G Rajeshwar Reddy in this department on May 17 this year, a similar atrocity came to light. The letter addressed to the Information and Civil Relations Department to the Commissioner was also titled ‘Government of Andhra Pradesh, Roads and Buildings Department’ to rebut a news story about the construction of a new High Court complex in Rajendranagar. Writing about the Telangana High Court building while sitting in Hyderabad’s Erramzil.. using AP letter stamp is the height of irresponsibility of the officials.
