Hyderabad, June 29 (Namaste Telangana): In the Irrigation Department, there is now a ruckus about the NOC regarding the Kodangal-Narayanapet lift. Water sources are debating that Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy is on the horse over this affair which took place in his department without his knowledge. It is known that Adityanath Das, a close friend of the Chief Minister and advisor to the irrigation department, played a key role in the NOC. It is learned that the minister, who is already deeply dissatisfied with the advisor’s actions, is getting even more enraged after the recent NOC incident came to light.
Kuridi lift at top of RDS
Karnataka is ready to drain the waters of Tungabhadra. On the Tungabhadra, RDS is constructing a drinking channel within 100 meters upstream of the dam with the aim of diverting 2 TMC of water at a cost of Rs 85 crore. Accordingly, the construction of reservoirs is being undertaken and the works are running. 15 km upstream of the RDS at Chikkalaparvi at a cost of Rs 397.50 crore, a road cum barrage with a water capacity of 5 TMC and a bridge cum barrage with a capacity of 2.5 TMC near Chikamanchala in Raichur district below the RDS are set to be constructed. The Revanth Sarkar of Telangana has issued an NVC (No Objection Document) as a joint venture for the construction of barrages undertaken by Karnataka. In order to provide irrigation water to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s own constituency, Kodangal, the Kodangal-Narayanapet lift scheme had to be obtained from the Karnataka government, but in return, the Karnataka government issued an NOC to the projects. As a result, Karnataka has issued an NOC to Kodangal Lift.
In that too, Karnataka has repeatedly said that they should not make any complaints or objections to the Center on their projects. ‘Namaste Telangana’ has recently exposed that NOC cover-up. The Revanth Sarkar in Telangana has published articles on giving NOC to Karnataka projects which question the RDS. Currently there is an intense debate on this. The opposition BRS is denying this. However, water resources sources explain that this matter of NVC is not in Minister Uttam’s view so far. It is said that Adityanath Das, a close associate of the Chief Minister and Advisor to the Irrigation Department, and a Secretariat-level official have continued discussions with Karnataka regarding the Kodangal lift permits. It is known that Karnataka issued the NVC only after his discussions. This matter is unknown to anyone except the Chief Engineer of the project, Adityanath Das. With the latest NVC coming to light, it is up to Amatyu to be surprised. It is reported that the minister is determined to bring the NVC without the crucial issue coming to his attention. Water sources are discussing that fire is burning on Das’s behavior.
Already very unhappy
Minister Uttam is already expressing deep dissatisfaction with the behavior and affairs of Adityanath Das, advisor of the irrigation department. Sources of water sources say that his efforts are continuing in the irrigation department. Engineers say that Adityanath Das and the CMO coterie play a vital role in everything from postings, extensions and payment of bills to engineers. It is known that recently Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited Palamuru Rangareddy project for two days. It is reported that the minister will not know until the trip is finalised. The discussion continued in Jalasoudha that the advisor and a few officials finalized the tour schedule and told Uttam at the last minute. Only Adviser Adityanath Das from the state is continuing discussions on the issue of Banakacharla. It is known from irrigation sources that even the minister is not fully disclosing the details of the meetings.
It is reported that Das is directly reporting to the Chief Minister and is continuing the discussions according to his orders and guidelines. Engineers are debating that even the fact that they went to discussions did not come to the attention of the minister at one stage. In this background, there is a discussion going on in Jalasauda that the Minister is very dissatisfied with the behavior of the Chief Minister and Adityanath Das. Actually, as soon as the BRS leaders and former minister Harish Rao hold a press meet on the irrigation department, the minister reacts at the same level. But currently the BRS leaders are lashing out at the Palamuru issue, the recent meeting with the Karnataka NVC and the Union Minister, but the Minister has remained silent. He is acting as if he has nothing to do with him. Engineers are discussing that the main reason for that is the Chief Minister and the adviser.
