The CBI has registered a case under sections 120B, 341, 302 and 34 on the orders of the Supreme Court. The names of Vasantha Rao, Kunta Srinivas and Akkapaka Kumar have been included as accused. On February 17, 2021, a Vamanarao couple was killed near Periyapalli. Vamanrao’s father Gattu Kishanrao has filed a pis in the Supreme Court seeking to transfer the case to the CBI. The Supreme Court, which ruled in favor of the petitioner on the 12th of last month, directed the state government to transfer the case to the CBI. Against this backdrop, the CBI has registered a case.
“The FIR was registered at the Ramagiri police station based on Kishan Rao’s complaint in the murder. However, the Supreme Court on August 12 ordered the case to investigate the case and file a final report. The FIR already registered in Ramagiri PS is under the same sections, and we are investigating and investigating the Veldi Vasantha Rao, Kunta Srinivas and Akkapaka Kumar of Manthani Mandalam Gunjapadu, ”the CBI said. Inspector Vipin Gahaloth will be the investigating officer of the case.
