Halia, May 17: Property dispute kills two. This terrible incident took place in Ibrahimpet suburb of Anumula mandal of Nalgonda district. According to the police and villagers, Rudrakshi Sumalatha and Yadaya are a couple from Ibrahimpet. They have daughter Lavanya. Yadaya’s father died when he was young. There was 6 acres of agricultural land in the name of Lavanya, while Nanamma Venkatamma was the guardian and registered it. As Lavanya has recently become a major, that land belongs to her. Lavanya and her close relatives, who had an eye on the land, had planned that if they killed her mother Sumalatha, the property would come to them.
As part of that, their relatives brought mother and daughter Sumalatha (40) and Lavanya (20) to the oil palm garden around 9.30 am on Sunday. There they sprinkled chillies in their eyes, wrapped Chunni around their necks and strangled them to prevent them from breathing. Miryalaguda DSP Rajasekar Raju and Halia SSI Saiprashanth inspected the incident site. The SSI said that a case has been registered against ten people responsible for the murders and investigation is underway.
