- The calculations given to Minister Ponnam Prabhakar are different
- The calculations are clear in the records given to the Assembly

Hyderabad, July 1 (Namaste Telangana): There are suspicions that RTC Cargo and Logistics Services, which is earning more than one hundred crore rupees annually, is showing false calculations in the name of net profit. The fact that the calculations given by the officials to the public are one type and the calculations told to the opposition in the assembly is different has added strength to the suspicions. Because the company that responded to the complaints on the ‘RTC Cargo Private’ article published by ‘Namaste Telangana. According to the explanation given to ‘Namaste Telangana’, if the income coming from RTC cargo services is around Rs.85.41 crores by March 2025-26, the remaining net profit after excluding expenses is Rs.32.01 crores. In 2023-24, the total revenue was Rs.86.54 crores, and the remaining net profit was Rs.17.21 crores, excluding expenses. If the total revenue is Rs.85.99 crores in 2024-25, then the net profit is Rs.28.78 crores.
The calculations given to the assembly are different
Ma Rolla shows the income coming from RTC cargo services in the figures reported in the Assembly. There is a big difference between those calculations and the currently released calculations. In the calculations given to the RTC Assembly during the last budget meetings, the total revenue received from RTC cargo and parcel services by March 2022-23 was shown to be Rs.93.82 crores. It has been shown that Rs.111.68 crores by 2023-24, Rs.90.34 crores by 2024-25 and Rs.71.11 crores by April to December 2025. From June 2020 to December 2025, the amount earned by the RTC organization is Rs.471.40 crores. He said that the total income was earned by transporting around 245.49 lakh parcels in buses belonging to the company. He said that not only in Telangana but also in states like AP, Maharashtra and Karnataka, PCC points have been established and cargo services are also being provided from there.
The figures given to the Transport Minister are different
If the calculations given to the people and the Assembly are one thing, the actual calculations given to the Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Gowd are different. On page 24 of the book released by Minister Ponnam on transport administration during the 2025-26 budget meetings, it is stated that ‘RTC has transported 51.88 lakh parcels through its buses from December 2023 to January 2025 and earned Rs 109 crore in revenue’. Meanwhile, in the report released by Telangana RTC during the budget meetings of 2026-27, it has been shown that RTC Cargo has earned an income of Rs.111.68 crore from April 2023 to March 2024. Which of these calculations should be believed? Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Gowda should know that. According to the RTC report released during the last budget meetings, from December 2023 to January 2025, about Rs. RTC Cargo has made a profit of more than 220 crores. But, in the calculations given to the minister, our amount was only Rs. 109 crores.
What is the basis for the expenditure of Rs.
In the explanation given by the RTC organization to ‘Namaste Telangana’, the total revenue in 2023-24 was Rs.86.54 crores, out of which expenses of Rs.69.33 crores were deducted and the net profit was Rs.17.21 crores. However, it is not telling how this Rs.69.33 crore was spent. It is not even said how the actual cost will be. Because RTC buses are plying. RTC staff are performing their duties. They are also getting salary from RTC company. The company is using diesel for RTC buses plying for cargo and other parcel services. Even if private agents are hired somewhere where they are needed, their salaries and other expenses will come to Rs.69.33 crores? That is the question.
Can you reveal the agreement?
Can the officials who plotted to privatize RTC Cargo completely reveal the agreement they made with a private company? That is what transport experts are asking. The officials who are deceiving in the name of net profits are demanding to reveal the expenses and their full details. In the explanation sent by the management of RTC to ‘Namaste Telangana’ on Wednesday, ‘The propaganda that Rs. 100 crore income will come from the cargo department is not true. Since the start of this department in 2020, it has never received a revenue of Rs.100 crores,’ she announced.
If the net profit increases.. it will be a huge loss for RTC!
RTC sources and transport industry experts say that an effort is being made to gradually reduce the income coming from RTC Cargo. Because in 2023-24, according to the official calculations of the government, if the revenue is more than Rs.111 crores. However, RTC officials say that only Rs.17.21 crores have been calculated for that period. According to the explanation given to ‘Namaste Telangana’, the net profit of RTC Cargo is also gradually increasing every year. If it was Rs.17.21 crore in 2023-24, it increased to Rs.28.78 crore in 2024-25. That means an additional increase of Rs.11.57 crores in one year. Also, the net profit by 2025-26 has been shown as Rs.32.01 crore.
However, if the net profit increased by at least Rs.11.57 crore in 2024-25, by 2025-26 it was shown to be reduced to just Rs.3.23 crore. Because the master agent gives Rs. 36 crores annually.. In an attempt to say that they will get an additional income of more than Rs. 3 crores, they falsified the calculations. According to the calculations given by RTC officials, the net profit of RTC Cargo is likely to increase to at least Rs.40 crores by 2026-27. Meanwhile, according to the agreement made by RTC with the master agent, only Rs.36 crores will be given annually for three years. After that the license fee will be increased by 5%. That means RTC will lose a few crores of rupees for three years from this year. Experts in the transport industry say that they should not be surprised if the cargo shows losses in this order. However, when we tried to get clarification on the matter, there was no response from the RTC officials.
Paying all the expenses and giving Rs.36 crores..
The private company, which currently claims to be the master agent in RTC cargo services, has been providing services since October last year. According to the agreement of that company, whether it is total expenses or profits, they will take care of the total amount.. giving Rs.36 crores annually to RTC. In this regard, what RTC officials are saying is that, ‘Even after all expenses are paid under RTC cargo services, their remaining income is only Rs. 30-32 crores.
If it is given to the master agent, they will get a license fee of Rs. 36 crores annually. This will generate an additional income of Rs. 3.99 crore per year for the RTC organization’, he says. However, the company which is the master agent does not have any specific buses. The company does not operate any buses for cargo services. As before, only RTC buses ply for parcels and other cargo services. The diesel used for them is also owned by RTC. In that case, the government and RTC officials who are hoping for Rs.36 crores from a private company are questioning why they are gradually taking the system to the private sector.
