Vote | If you vote in two places, you will be jailed for a year.. Sudarshan Reddy, the Chief Election Officer of the state

Vote | Hyderabad, July 10 (Namaste Telangana): Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy has warned that even after the end of the ‘Sir’ process in the state, anyone who votes in two places will be jailed for a year. He said that DSP software will be used to identify those who have two votes across the country and the voter list will be completely purged. In the ‘Meet the Press’ held at the Hyderabad Press Club on Friday, he gave answers to several questions asked by media representatives and revealed the progress of the ‘SIR’ process in the state.

He said that the process of ‘SIR’ is going on peacefully throughout Telangana and the process of digitization of the collected documents will continue till 24th of this month. Those who have not received the enumeration forms and those who have voted but have not received the form are advised to immediately contact the BLO in their area. It has been clarified that all the eligible persons have to fill the enumeration form, otherwise the name will not appear in the voter list. If the forms do not come now, they said that Form-6 and Form-8 will be given in August and they can be filled and given. He said that after the completion of the ‘Sir’ process, there will be a new voter registration program and the ECI will provide the voter card within a month of the application.

Identification of 89 lakh ‘anomalies’ voters

Sudarshan Reddy revealed that the ECI has identified about 89 lakh ‘anomalies’ voters in Telangana who have wrong details and typos and will soon issue notices to them. He said that a special survey will be conducted by giving notices to the voters who do not have the data of 2002. He said that currently 59% of the forms have been returned in the agency areas and digitization of forms is going on in all the seven constituencies of Old Basti. Will welfare schemes be given if there is no vote? Or? He said on this occasion that it is a decision for the government to take.

When asked why the update of the process of distribution and digitization of forms is not being given in the form of SMS, he said that this is the decision of the Central Election Commission. Despite living in the same house for 30 years and exercising the right to vote in every election, voters in ‘Sir’ have made it clear that they have to renew their vote again. To the question that BLOs are not coming to the houses in urban and city areas, it was stated that they have appointed municipal staff as assistants.
