Harish Rao | June 30 is the darkest day in Telangana's industrial history: Harish Rao

Harish Rao: Former minister and BRS leader Harish Rao expressed his grief that June 30, 2025 is a dark day in Telangana’s industrial history. He made these comments while responding to the one year anniversary of the horrific incident in which 54 poor migrant laborers were burnt alive in Pashamailaram Sigachi industry of Sangareddy district. Revanth Reddy criticized the loss of innocent lives due to failure of government control and supervision and negligence of Sigachi management.

On the day of the incident, even though he was at Jubilee Hills Palace in Hyderabad, CM Revanth did not come to the site of the incident which is 20 kilometers away and it is heartbreaking that the tears of the affected families were not wiped. Criticism came the next day. Revanth Reddy announced that he would give Rs.1 crore to each family as a witness for the dead bodies, but only Rs.1 lakh was given on behalf of the government. It is alleged that workers’ PF, ESI, life insurance and medical expenses were also included in the compensation and cheated.

Going round the offices for months for death certificates, not giving jobs and not helping the injured is evil. He said that this incident was a mass murder, negligence like running 1777 HP with permission of 818 HP, absence of safety guards, fire NOC, dust control system etc. The government’s lack of action against the management and the arrest of the MD and immediate release on bail were criticized as indicating a fraudulent deal.

Sigachi demanded attachment of the properties of the directors and immediate payment of Rs. Harish Rao commented that you are in the habit of slurring your words but do not deceive the families of the poor workers who lost their lives.
