Hyderabad, July 15 (Namaste Telangana): TG Genco has once again extended the deadline for tenders for privatization of some plants at Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS). An opportunity has been given for the filing of tenders till 24th of this month. While the deadline for tenders expired on Tuesday, it is reported that only three companies have filed tenders. Initially, tenders were given till June 29 and July 14. Recently it has been extended till 24th of this month.
It is known that Genco has invited tenders for the privatization of ash handling and coal handling plants in Yadadri Power Plant. Electricity trade unions are strongly opposing the privatization of YTPS. Along with all the power plants in the state, employees of Vidyuttu Soudha in Hyderabad staged a protest during their lunch hour on Wednesday. The JAC leaders announced that they will protest till the cancellation of YTPS tenders.
