Hyderabad, June 11 (Namaste Telangana): Excise Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao has suggested that strict measures should be taken to control illegal drugs and ganja in Telangana. The Minister participated as the Chief Guest in the Deekshanth Parade (Passing Out Parade) of Assistant Excise Superintendents and Excise Sub-Inspectors organized at the Excise Academy in Bandlaguda Jagir on Thursday. He called upon the new officers entering the duties to make public service, duty and honesty as guiding principles. The minister clarified that the excise department is not only a department that generates revenue for the government, but it is the most important department to protect the youth from addiction and to protect the society from the menace of drugs.
Technology is the biggest weapon
Minister Jupalli said that through drone surveillance, it is possible to detect cannabis cultivation and illegal drug centers, and through mobile apps and GPS tracking, it is possible to detect illicit traffic. He called for the use of AI to crack down on drugs. Constable Soumya, who sacrificed her life in Nizamabad to stop the smuggling of ganja, hoped that the courage of the new officers would be an inspiration. On this occasion, the Minister presented prizes to those who excelled in training. Additional Commissioner Qureshi, Academy Director Suresh, Joint Commissioner Anjan Rao, Joint Director Shasidhar Reddy, Chief Drill Inspector Rangareddy and others participated.
