Damodara Raja Narsimha: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has given key instructions to the authorities in the wake of the All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) calling for a nationwide strike on medical shops tomorrow (May 20). The minister directed the top officials of the health department to make alternative arrangements so that people do not face any problem due to the bandh of medical shops.
Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha directed the officials to take all necessary measures so that the effect of the shutdown of medical shops does not fall on the patients and those who use emergency medicines. The Minister directed the authorities to keep pharmacies open for 24 hours on Wednesday and pharmacists to be available in all government hospitals including primary health centers and basti dawakhans in the state. The minister directed the higher officials to issue orders to this effect immediately. The minister advised the officials of the Drug Control Authority to ensure that people do not suffer.
