At 4 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, 200 policemen along with revenue and municipal officials came with bulldozers and demolished the huts and the CPI office inside. CPI leaders arrested 30 people and took them to KU police station. With restrictions.. Holding children in red tenta and starving the hut dwellers without drinking water.
Women were seriously injured in this incident. The poor people’s hearts were broken when the huts they had built after saving a penny were being demolished before their eyes.
