Boianapalli Vinod Kumar : Former BRS MP B. Vinod Kumar has suggested to the Central Election Commission that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) should work more effectively if the process of Special Amendment of Voters Lists (SIR) is to be successful. He brought to the notice of the CEC that the booth level officers appointed in some areas are not fully aware of the process and the necessary forms are not available.

The BRS team made key suggestions on the special amendment of the voter list maintained by the Central Election Commission. During the meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner at 4:30 pm, MPs Vaviraju Ravichandra, Damodar Rao, Parthasaradhi Reddy, former MP B. Vinod Kumar, BRS General Secretary Soma Bharat Kumar shared their views on Sir. On this occasion, Vinod Kumar said that the matter of changing some officials after identifying the problems in the case of Sir was also brought to the attention of the Election Commission.

The former MP said that they are helping the voters in every booth and participating in the amendment process. Stating that the cleansing of voter lists is a continuous process, Vinod opined that if technology is widely used, this process will be more transparent and efficient. He suggested to the Election Commission that if the voter details are linked with Aadhaar, it will be easier to identify duplicate registrations.

However, he said that according to the Supreme Court’s verdict, they recognize that it is not possible to make Aadhaar mandatory. However, according to their experience, almost 99 percent of voters voluntarily provide Aadhaar details. B. Vinod Kumar revealed that he explained to the Central Election Commission that in such cases Aadhaar-based verification would be very useful for the cleanliness and transparency of voter lists.
