Approval for houses above 18 thousand: The central government has given a huge relief to the construction of houses in the urban areas of Telangana. Housing Corporation MD VP Gautam revealed that the Center has approved the construction of 18,213 houses in all 118 towns. Due to this, poor people living in rented houses in cities got a chance to realize their dream of owning a house.
A huge budget of Rs.910 crores: A total of Rs.910.65 crore will be spent on this project. It is estimated that the construction of each house will cost around Rs.5 lakh. The aim of the government is to build quality houses with these funds and provide them to the beneficiaries. Now the line has been cleared for this project which has been waiting for funds for a long time.
Share of Central and State Governments: The central government will allocate Rs. 273.20 crores for its part in this huge fund. The Telangana state government will bear the remaining Rs.637.45 crores. In this way, the construction of Indiramma houses will be accelerated with the cooperation of the two governments. With the release of funds from the Centre, the works are likely to be completed soon.
Big relief for city dwellers: Usually more focus is given to construction of houses in rural areas, but this time priority is given to the poor in urban areas. Also, with these funds sanctioned under PMAY 2.0, officials are preparing plans to speed up the selection of eligible beneficiaries and the construction work.
