Hyderabad | Banjara Hills, June 6: The Revanth government, which had promised to use government land for public purposes, has now dashed their hopes. In the heart of the city, the Congress government, which is in the hunt for money, is offering for sale an eight-acre plot of land that is spreading happiness and health to the people around it with huge trees resembling a forest. Locals are expressing their anger after HMDA has started the exercise to build the 8.24 acre land worth about Rs.1000 crore between the ACB office and MLA Colony on Banjara Hills Road No. 12 to private individuals.
Hyderabad district in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who had previously visited this place. The promise given by the officials saying that ‘we will turn the city into a theme park as per the wishes of the colonists’ has gone to waste. If a theme park is established here, the Congress government has dashed the hopes of the locals who are hoping that the nearby areas will get coolness and oxygen.
The temple was also demolished
There is about ten acres of government land in Survey No. 102/1, TS 1/P, 3/P, Block-J, Ward 12 within Hakeempet Village which falls under Shakepet Mandal. A part of this was encroached by some people belonging to MLA Colony as colony land.. Some of the encroachments were removed by the Revenue Department. The rest of the area was fenced last year at a cost of Rs 50 lakh on the orders of District Collector Anudeep Durishetti. The place is lush with greenery due to the presence of rare trees and rocks. As a result, MLA colonists and local residents asked the authorities to develop this place as a theme park.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Collector Anudeep Durishetti and other officials who visited the area announced that this place will be used for the needs of the people and if necessary, it will be handed over to HMDA and turned into a wonderful theme park. In this order, this place was transferred to HMDA six months ago. There was a Peddamthalli temple at this place for many years.. As there was no way to go there, the temple was removed overnight and the idol was kept in a temple owned by the Deity Department. A huge flexi was set up here on Saturday saying that 8.24 acres of land is being auctioned under the auspices of HMDA, dashing the hopes of the colonists who are waiting for this place to be turned into a theme park.
The residents of the colony are expressing their anger that the real estate companies will cut huge trees in this place in the heart of the city, hundreds of trees have already been cut at KBR Park, and the trees in the MLA Colony will also be cut. The HMDA officials said that there will be a pre-bidding meeting on June 12, registration will be done by paying the prescribed fee for bidding by 17, and the auction will be held on 19. With this, the colonists, public associations,
Environmentalists are getting ready.
