The behavior of the Congress government in the matter of cultivation and procurement of crops is causing serious confusion to the farmers. It seems that the government, which is unable to buy crops, is trying to push this failure on the farmers.
- Unclear government policy..any alternative for next season?
- The peasantry of the state is in a state of disorientation
- The CM and Ministers have already called for no rice cultivation
- A government that does not say which crop to plant as an alternative
- The government is unable to buy other crops
- Farmers hit the road to buy maize, sorghum and sunflower
- Bonus for all crops before election
- Now there is no support, no bonus, no crop
- The government is trying to push its failure on the farmers
- What do farmers want? What crops should be grown?
Don’t throw rice…
Rice cultivation is not the only solution. Farmers do not get much profit if they grow rice. So farmers have to look after other crops.
– CM Revanth Reddy in the Assembly on March 18
Plant other crops
Do not cultivate rice. There is no condition to buy grain. So farmers have to turn to alternative crops. It is better to grow vegetables.
– Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao in Khammam on June 3
If there is no rice, then what crop should the farmers plant?
Hyderabad, June 4 (Namaste Telangana): The way the Congress government is acting in the matter of cultivation and procurement of crops is confusing the farmers. It seems that the government, which is unable to buy crops, is trying to push this failure on the farmers. Government leaders who are calling to not cultivate rice and to switch to alternative crops.. are not telling directly which crop should be planted instead of rice. The government is showing direct hell by not buying the crops of the farmers who have already cultivated alternative crops in many places. Those farmers are left with losses at the end. Now all the farmers in the state are worried about the situation if they plant any crop other than paddy. Criticisms are being heard that the original Congress government did not have a proper plan for the cultivation and procurement of crops, which has become a curse for the farmers. All this is a bad idea to escape from the purchase of timber, but experts in the agricultural sector are criticizing the Revanth Sarkar for not having any scientific policy.
Assembly is like any ‘rice’..!
Whatever the occasion, Sarkar has been singing along with ‘Vari’ since the year. No rice.. The alternative is a kiss, CM Revanth Reddy.. and Agriculture Minister Thummala are calling again and again. Whether it is a meeting, a government event, a party event, an assembly or a media chitchat, these two are making announcements anywhere. Farmers grow rice because it is less difficult. But the center wants to buy. Then what should the government do with the rice they bought?’ The report said that in the past ten years, paddy cultivation in the state has increased from 35 lakh acres to 127 lakh, while vegetable cultivation has decreased from 5 lakh acres to one lakh acres. The report said that crop rotation is imperative in these conditions. On the other hand, the agriculture department is also making efforts to reduce rice cultivation. In this order, the Congress government is calling the farmers not to cultivate rice.
Any alternative?
The government, which is blindly arguing that rice should not be cultivated, has not revealed a clear decision on the alternative. So far no list of alternative crops has been prepared. Farmers were not explained which crops are good to cultivate and which crops are in demand. What are the incentives given to farmers? It should be ensured that there is no loss due to alternative crops. Farmers are not assured of purchasing alternative crops. There is a situation where the farmers are left on the road without the support price being available in the open market and the government not buying it. From the last two years, we have been seeing how much trouble the farmers are facing to sell the crops that they have cultivated hard. The state government is raising its hands by pretending against the centre. But the experts say that it is not appropriate to harvest rice without doing any of these things.
Guaranteed bonus on today.
Congress, which came to power hoping for bonus for all crops for votes during the elections, now it is showing support price and bonus to buy crops. One of the 420 promises mentioned in the manifesto is the promise of bonus over and above the support price for crops. It has been announced that the government will buy all the crops grown by the farmers at the support price and will also pay a bonus. As part of this, in the manifesto, bonus has been announced for 10 types of crops such as rice, maize, pulses, soybean, cotton, chilli, turmeric, red sorghum, sugarcane and sorghum. After Tira came to power, there was a situation where the bonus matter was exploited for the purchase of God’s crops. The government does not want rice.. and is not buying other crops either. The Congress, which had said that the state government would purchase crops at the support price, is now trying to push the burden of crop purchases on the Centre. They are demanding that the purchase of crops is not their responsibility, but that the center should buy them.
