Manthani: BRS Leaders were prevented from going to the Kannepalli pump house which is a part of the Kaleswaram project, which is a part of the Kaleswaram project, which is a part of Telangana, on Sunday. The BRS leaders in Manthani, Muttaram, Ramagiri and Kamanpur mandals of the division were pre-arrested by the police and taken to the police stations from early Sunday morning.
Mandal leaders accused the Congress government of wasting water, which has the potential to irrigate lakhs of acres in Telangana if the water in the Kannepally pumphouse in Manthani constituency is released. Heavy police picketing was arranged at many places along the Pedpadalli-Kataram main road and every vehicle was checked thoroughly.
If any BRS leaders were found during the inspections, they were immediately arrested and taken to the police stations. They expressed their anger that it was inappropriate for the police to seize and arrest the farmers while they were visiting the Kannepally pump house to provide irrigation water.
