Mortad/Sirikonda/Mendora (Ergatla)/Ellareddy, June 16: The BRS along with the farmers have taken up the fight against the urea application. Dharnas and Rastaroks were organized in many parts of Nizamabad district on Tuesday. Farmers staged a grand dharna in Mortad on Tuesday demanding immediate cancellation of urea app and 24-hour free electricity supply to agriculture. Farmers of six villages under the Mortad Society have staged a sit-in on the national highway. A lot of vehicles came to a standstill as Rastaroko was held for almost two and a half hours.
They said that they are facing serious difficulties due to the app system and if the urea is not booked as a problem, the farmers who are booked have to bring it from other villages and it will waste time and extra cost. Those who don’t know about the app process and those who don’t have an Android phone asked how to book. Farmers calmed down when officials came and assured that they would ensure availability of urea. Farmers protested under the leadership of BRS Nizamabad Rural Incharge Bajireddy Jagan in Sirikonda demanding immediate cancellation of Urea app system. “Urea App should go.. Revanth should step down” he said. On the other hand, farmers and BRS leaders staged a dharna on the national highway at Pochampad X Road in Mendora Mandal.
The app is popular among farmers
The Urea app brought by the Congress government is creating confusion among the farmers. Due to the actions of the government, there is a division between the breadwinners by villages and societies. A dispute broke out between farmers at Mattamala Society in Ellareddy, Kamareddy district on Tuesday. An argument took place when the local farmers insisted on giving the urea that came to their society to themselves and not to the farmers of the other societies.
When 400 bags of urea were received by Mattamala Society, farmers of many villages in Ellareddy mandal booked on the app on Monday. They all reached Mattamala Society on Tuesday morning. Locals questioned how the urea received by their society will be given to the farmers of other societies. They complained to the officials that they are unable to book on the app and how can they grow crops if they are not given urea. Along with Mattama, farmers of some other villages blocked the distribution of urea. When an argument broke out between the farmers, the police came and rounded them up. Urea was distributed under police watch with the assurance of the authorities.
