The upper age limit for general jobs is 34 years as per the rules currently in force. However, with the latest orders, this age limit has increased to 44 years. This age relaxation will be effective for one year. It is mentioned in the order that this decision has been taken due to the large number of requests from the unemployed youth. It has been revealed that many unemployed people have crossed the age limit due to various reasons like Corona period, delay in recruitment, lack of notifications etc. This decision has been taken with the intention of giving them another chance.
The order said that this age relaxation will be applicable to the notifications issued by various recruitment agencies in the state. However, the government clarified that this relaxation will not apply to uniformed services. It is stated that this increase in age limit is not applicable for jobs requiring physical standards like Police, Excise, Fire, Jail and Forest Departments.
