Like a retaining wall for Godavari..
99 lakh bamboo plants will be preserved on both sides of Godavari river from Basara to Tryambakeshwar to prevent river erosion. For this purpose, 50 lakh volunteers belonging to students, NSS, NCC and youth organizations in the states of Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are working. Local bamboo varieties that can withstand the summer temperatures of the Deccan region are preferred in this phase. This greening will also continue in the catchment areas of Manjira and Pranahita rivers. These bamboo trees will provide protection like a natural retaining wall.

Innovative KTR birthday..
Green India Challenge is innovatively organizing the birthday of BRS Waring President. KTR planted 99 lakh saplings at the rate of two lakh saplings for every one year of his life. This plantation drive will continue till next year.
If the river is good, we all will be good
GCI founder Santhosh Kumar said on this occasion.. ‘A river is not just a flow of water. It is like oxygen to the human body. Life to grow all crops on Dharitri. On the occasion of KTR’s 50th birthday, we wanted to give a unique green gift that would last a lifetime. Part of that is greening with 99 lakh plants along the banks of Godavari. If the river is good, we all will be good. That’s why we are doing our best to protect the river,” he said.
