Vemula Prashanth Reddy | Prashanth Reddy went on hunger strike at his residence in Velpur after the police stopped the hunger strike led by MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy.
Nizamabad: Former minister and local MLA Vemula Prashant Reddy started a hunger strike at his residence in Velpur after the police stopped the hunger strike in Bhingal town of Balkonda constituency of Nizamabad district. Along with the massively gathered ranks, they went on a strict hunger strike to protest against the government. Meanwhile, Deputy Floor Leader Harish Rao said that the BRS party strongly condemns the detention of MLA Prashant Reddy by the police at his residence in Velpur.
If Prashant Reddy decides to go on a peaceful hunger strike against the Congress government on public issues such as development of Bhingal Municipality, construction of 100-bed hospital, renovation of RTC Depot… the detention of him by the police is a proof of the anti-democratic rule of the Revanth Reddy government.
Harish Rao criticized that the Revanth Reddy government has become a habit of confining the opposition and running a police state, claiming to be a ‘people’s government’. He said that the people will show proper wisdom to Revanth Reddy who is killing democracy with the spirit of Hitler and acting with arrogance of power. They demanded that the Congress government should immediately stop suppressing the voices of the opposition questioning public issues.
