Namaste Telangana Network, April 27: There is no turning back for maize farmers. Not only to grow fruit, but also to sell it. Queues at shopping malls, waiting for weeks. Farmers protested at many places on Monday protesting the delay in purchase and negligence in handing over the bags. Farmers have expressed their anger at the agricultural maret yard in Thorrur of Mahabubabad district for not putting up the thorn soon. On the Mahabubabad-Thorrur main road, sticks were blocked and written on. 80 tractors and 20 autos loaded with cotton were parked in front of the market for a kilometer as the gate of the Kesamudram agricultural market in Mahabubabad district was closed.
From Sunday evening to Monday evening, the farmers were on the road in front of the market. Due to lack of bags in purchase centers in Bayyaram mandal Kasthurinagar, Bayyaram, Kothapet, Kambalapalli, Uppalapadu and Ramachandrapuram villages, the canta has come to a standstill. Farmers feel that the situation is very bad in the cocoa buying center of Inugurthi mandal.
Farmers along with CPM and BRS leaders staged a sit-in on the Kesamudram-Nellikuduru main road in Inugurthi saying that even after 20 days of bringing the maize, the organizers are not paying any attention. On 4th of this month, Parakala MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy inaugurated the procurement center for Haka Farmer Service Center at Goodeppad market yard of Hanumakonda District Atmakuru Mandal.
The farmers of Peddapuram, Akkampeta, Tirumalagiri and Kamaram villages in the mandal are angry that they have not bought mackerel until a week ago. Farmers are expressing their anger that despite the opening of the Makal purchase center in Kodakandla of Janagama district, the purchase has not started so far.
Farmers staged a dharna at the grain buying center in Eravenlu in Palakurti mandal of Janagama district, even after nearly 20 days have passed since the center was opened. Farmers are alleging that they have been facing difficulties since they set up a paddy buying center in Geesugonda mandal of Hanumakonda district in Ookal Rythu Sahabarak Kendra. Warangal district MLA Donthi Madhavareddy’s own mandal, Chennaraopet, farmers held a dharna on Monday.

Day and night!
They are sleeping at night at Tadur PACS center of Nagarkurnool district because they don’t have bags to fill them. Aadhaar card, bank account, application Grocks papers are queued up for coupons. The farmers are complaining that they are having to wait there as they have not picked up the makkas that they have been buying for months. They complained that even though the coupons were given on 20th of this month, the bags were not given in full. He said that as coupons are given in three ways in Biometric, there is no need to wait and there is a shortage of lorries and porters to lift the purchased bags.

Congress leaders brokers!
Even though the government is giving a support price of Rs.2,400, due to lack of timely purchases, farmers are selling to brokers at low prices. It has been learned that some Congress leaders in Tadur of Nagarkurnool district are buying from farmers at the rate of Rs.2,100 per quintal and storing it in their godowns. Farmers are angry that they have to hand over the rest of the support price money deposited in the farmers’ account to the Congress leaders, and they are supplying the bags to such people.
