Hyderabad, July 21 (Namaste Telangana): The Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj has announced that it is implementing a reorganized Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) to strengthen administration, provide better services and promote digital governance in Gram Panchayats. It said that under the scheme, more than Rs.7,746 crores have been released for the training of the elected public representatives and panchayat staff and for the construction of buildings, computers and facilities of the gram panchayat. In a written reply to a question asked by a member of the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, it stated that Rs.135.29 crores have been released to Telangana since 2014 under RGSA, of which Rs.134.77 crores have been utilized. It has been clarified that out of Rs.23.87 crores released under the Incentiveization of Panchayats scheme, only Rs.11.37 crores have been utilized.
