Nilgiris, June 06: An incident took place in Miryalaguda of Nalgonda district on Saturday when a waqf board inspector was caught asking ACB officials for a bribe of ten thousand for a mosque survey report. According to the details of ACB DSP Jagdish Chander, a mosque located in Peddwara under Nagarjunasagar Constituency of Nalgonda District has a land of 900 yards. As there was a dispute over this land for some time, the administrator of the mosque wrote a letter asking the Wakf Board to take over the land. As a result, the higher authorities have issued orders to survey the place and submit a report, and Waqf Board Inspector Mahmood conducted the survey last month.
Mahmood troubled the mosque manager by telling him that he would give the survey report only if he was bribed to do the survey and not submit the report. The victim then approached the ACB officials. In this order, the ACB officials caught Mahmood red-handed while the victim was giving Rs.10,000 at the Miryalaguda bus stand. Later, the ACB officers conducted simultaneous inspections at the Wakf Board office in Miryalaguda along with the house of Wakf Board Inspector Mehmood.
