Prajashakti-Guntur District Representative : District SP Vakul Jindal said that 805 vehicles have been seized in a special drive conducted by the police to create awareness among motorists who are violating traffic rules and not following road safety rules in all the police stations of the district. Out of these, 313 vehicles belong to Guntur city. An awareness conference on violations of traffic rules was organized at the police parade ground in Guntur on Monday. To the motorists, they have given many orders, instructions and warnings to the parents about road safety rules and traffic rules. He said that due to violation of rules, many accidents are happening all the time. A special vehicle drive was conducted across the district for two days, minor driving, rash driving, triple riding, vehicles without license, insurance, helmet, number plate etc. were taken into possession and this program was undertaken to give counseling to all of them. Everyone should follow the road safety rules and traffic rules and be safe. He explained that if 805 vehicles were impounded across the district, minor driving – 141, rash driving/bike racing – 98, triple riding – 218, no number plate – 115, helmet, license and proper documents – 230 were seized. DSPs Srinivasa Rao, Arvind, Abdul Aziz, SB CI A. Srinivas, Traffic CIs Ashok, Singaya, Kothapet CI Veeraiah Choudhary, Lalapeta CI Sivaprasad, Citypalem CI Kishore Kumar, RIs Suresh and Srihari Reddy participated in the program.
