Hyderabad, May 9 (Namaste Telangana): The Congress government has once again lied to the state employees and teachers. The Supreme Court decided not to implement the High Court verdict in favor of the employees. It is looking for ways to avoid the given word. The state government initially said that steps will be taken to implement the old pension for the government employees who were appointed before September 2004.
Guaranteed. The Telangana High Court has ruled that the old pension should be implemented if the employees go to court. Later, in a meeting with the JAC leaders, the government leaders gave a clear assurance on the implementation of the old pension. On the same day, Sarkar filed a writ in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court verdict. It is noteworthy that the writ was filed in the Supreme Court on the same day as the discussions with the JAC leaders of the trade unions for the resolution of the demands and problems. The leaders of the unions express their amazement that with this single action, the government is paying attention to the problems and demands of the employees and how much love they have for the employees. The leaders of the employers' and teachers' unions were shocked by the government's behavior. The JAC leaders of the trade unions are angry that the government's attitude is 'saying one thing with the mouth... mocking with the nose'.
High Court verdict in 2025
The Telangana High Court gave a historic verdict in July 2025 to implement the old pension facility for government employees appointed before September 2004 in the state. It was assumed that the old pension would apply to the employees working in Transco, Genco and various DISCs along with DSC 2003 teachers. However, the government made a huge delay. The employees went to court again. The court clarified that the verdict should be implemented within three months. The state government filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court on the 2nd of this month against the High Court verdict. While the state is implementing the old pension for IAS and IFS officers, they are refusing to apply the old pension to the state government employees. Civil servants rule on this! Rs for state government employees? Questions are arising. The union leaders are angry that they could not understand the hypocritical deception of the Congress. They are accusing the government of being disloyal and a breach of trust.
Sarkar's back
Last month, JACs of trade unions had called for a struggle to resolve the long-standing problems. On the 5th of this month, the mass hunger strike was started. In this meeting, the JAC leaders insisted that the CPS should be canceled and old pension should be applied to those appointed before September 2004. In fact, CM Revanth Reddy assured the employees on many issues. He assured the JAC leaders that the Deputy CM would look into the CPS issue and apply the old pension to those appointed through notifications before September 2004. He also expressed happiness over the CM's assurances. The union leaders thought that the government would implement the High Court verdict. On the day of that promise, the Congress government filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Telangana High Court verdict to implement the old pension for those appointed before September 2004. The employees are worried because this matter, which the government has kept as a top secret, has been leaked. The fraud of the Congress government is drying up. They warn that another movement is inevitable.
Government action is unethical: TSUTF
In a statement, TSUTF demanded to implement the old pension for DSC-2003 teachers as promised by the Chief Minister. The government, which had promised to implement the memo-57 issued by the Centre, has expressed its anger on challenging the High Court verdict in the Supreme Court. Assuring that a positive decision will be taken in the Joint Staff Council, it has criticized it as unethical to file a case in the Supreme Court.
This is conspiratorial negligence: TSTU
In a statement, TSTU stated that it is worst to approach the Supreme Court after the High Court verdict has to be implemented.
The association's state president and general secretaries Mohammed Abdullah and Chanduri Rajireddy criticized that filing a petition in the court is a proof of natural justice principles. They demanded that old pension should be applied to DSC-2003 teachers immediately.
The writ should be withdrawn
The government should respond immediately and withdraw the writ filed in the Supreme Court. Otherwise we will intensify the old pension sadhana struggle. The government has recently held talks with JACs of teachers and trade unions to implement the old pension scheme. In those discussions, the government assured that they will try to apply the old pension to those appointed through notifications before 2004, including 2003 DSC teachers. On the other hand, filing of SLP is regrettable.

Movement is inevitable
If the High Court judgment is not implemented, another movement is inevitable. All employees are eagerly waiting for implementation of old pension. We all felt that it would be implemented as promised by the Chief Minister. But filing a writ in the Supreme Court on the day of negotiations is worst. The government deceived us who believed. Betrayed our faith. The government should reconsider this matter.
