SIR | Hyderabad, July 6 (Namaste Telangana): Political analysts say that neglecting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) conducted by the Election Commission to purge the voter list will pay a heavy price. It is warned that if there is detachment, there will be irreparable damage. Leaders of political parties say that if we think about it, we will get cheated first.
The 'Sir' process is going on in the state. The role of Booth Level Officer (BLO) as well as Booth Level Agents (BLA) is also crucial in this process. However, BRS, Congress and BJP leaders in the state do not seem to have taken the 'Sir' process very seriously. Thinking that this is the work of BLVs, they do not care. BLAs are not fielded. Political experts warn that this is extremely dangerous. The DMK leader and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is quoting Stalin's words that they neglected 'Sir' and that is why they had to lose.
In a previous election, a political party gave a ticket to a leader. All the polls conducted before the election predicted that he would win. But, day by day the situation changed. Especially before the polls, the situation completely deteriorated. Even though a senior leader was warned that he was in danger, the candidate was overconfident. At last he burst into tears. He narrowly missed the opportunity to become an MLA. That's it. Close the political chapter. If the scene was cut, another leader entered the scene in the same place. The ticket flew away. In the end, there was no chance even in the nominated posts. In the end he settled for the status of a member of the nominal commission. So far his defeat was less than two thousand votes. If he got a thousand votes, his life would have changed. He made history as an MLA. This is not a story. It is not a story. A fact that happened in our state in 2009 elections. All these lost by a narrow margin. This is the value of votes. In the recently held Bihar elections, 27 thousand votes were removed from the Sandesh segment with 'Sir', but JDU won this seat by just 27 votes. In Kurhani constituency, 24,000 votes were removed as part of 'Sir', BJP won this seat by 9,000 votes.
Leaders of political parties do not take 'Sir' seriously. Not much focus on it. The reason for this is political uncertainty in the state. Re-division of constituencies will be done soon. This will change the shape of constituencies. Reservations are subject to change. There are situations where it is not known which seat will be reserved for whom with women's reservation. Due to this, MLAs, former MLAs and aspirants are acting as if this move is not for us. I don't care. If this is the case, it will cost a lot to engage the cadre in the 'SIR' process. From now on, there is a feeling among the leaders that there is no need for unnecessary expenses. It is for this reason that in many constituencies the 'SIR' process has become the sole responsibility of the BLOs.
Mamata Banerjee was badly hit by 'Sir' in West Bengal the other day. Didi's strongholds were shattered as more than 90 lakh votes were deleted. Mamata's vote bank has failed. Candidates fielded by Didi were defeated in the areas where the votes were removed, but the BJP got the upper hand. In many constituencies, the TMC lost, while the BJP benefited hugely. In Bengal, there were 147 constituencies where more than 25,000 votes were removed, while the BJP won 95. Trinamool is limited to 51 seats. If there are 67 constituencies where 15,000 to 25,000 votes were removed, BJP won 47 seats and TMC won only 19 seats. There were 62 seats where 5,000 to 15,000 votes were removed, while the BJP alone rang the victory bell in 50 seats. If there are 13 seats where less than five thousand votes were removed, BJP has accounted for all the seats.
The influence of 'Sir' was also evident in Tamil Nadu and Bihar. A total of 97 (15.2%) lakh votes were deleted in Tamil Nadu. 15 lakh votes were deleted in Chennai alone. In 168 constituencies, 10% votes have been cut. As a whole, DMK, which is known as a strong opposition to BJP, suffered a heavy defeat. In Bihar, the BJP won four of the five constituencies where the majority of votes were removed in the 'Sir' process. Political analysts say that the margin of victory in 174 seats is less than the deleted votes. 91 seats changed hands from one party to another. NDA won 75 of these seats.
The 'Sir' process has just gained momentum. There is an opportunity till 24th of this month. This is the time when MLAs, former MLAs and aspirants should be alert. It is time to field BLAs. Be very careful at this time. Voters should be made aware. Remember the responsibility of voting. It should be seen that everyone gets 'Sir' forms. Eligible voters should fill these forms. Be careful not to delete votes. Appeal should be made if eligible are removed. Appropriate documents should be submitted. It should be ensured that there are no ineligible votes. Those who are dead and have two votes should be removed from the voter list.
