Hyderabad, July 12 (Namaste Telangana): Telangana has been disappointed in the Awards 2024-25 awards. Telangana has won the awards in the last BRS ten years. But now the Congress rule is the two awards. Under the BRS regime, some municipalities in Telangana (Urban Local Body-ULB) have won the Pure Survey Awards in various departments. The Greater Hyderabad Ministry of Hyderabad won the ninth edition of the year 2024-25 and won the Ministry of Secunderabad Cantonment Board. None of the other municipalities in the state (ULB) have been selected for the award. Field Assessment for the final final phase of pure survey- the 9th edition began on February 15 and ended by the end of March. The awards ceremony will be held in New Delhi on the 17th of this month.
Case with the past
Siddipeta, Gundlapochampally and Nizampet awards were won in the Zonal category at the 2023 Swarna Survey Awards. Further, 18 municipalities received awards in the zonal level category. Eight of all municipalities achieved 1 star status in the Garbage Free City category and one ULB 5 star status. However, this year, other municipalities have not won awards except the Greater Hyderabad and Secunderabad Cantonment Board. In the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam won the Ministry of Special Division and Rajahmundry State Level Ministry Award. Vijayawada, Guntur and Tirupati are recognized in the Super League Cities.
Financial issues in 100 days of planning
Most municipalities in the state are facing financial difficulties in implementing 100 -day planning programs. The event will begin on June 2 and will continue till September 10. During the BRS regime, Rs 116 crore has been released every month under the urban progress program. Of this, Rs 61 crore has been allocated to Greater Hyderabad and Rs 55 crore to the remaining 141 municipalities. These funds were used for sanitation, environment and other development work. At present, the Telangana State Congress government’s weak performance reflects the performance of municipal corporations.
